Meet Rose Carr Schwartz
Rose is an evaluation and impact strategy leader with more than a decade of experience directing grantmaking and evaluation across philanthropy and the nonprofit sector.
Most recently, as Senior Director of Program Impact at a national nonprofit, she led national evaluation strategy for digital inclusion and technology education programs. She designed a unified measurement approach across program areas, facilitated focus groups to bring community experience into strategy, and presented findings to senior leadership and funders.
Before that, Rose spent more than five years at Constellation Fund in Minneapolis, rising from Impact Officer to Chief Impact Officer. She led a multi-million-dollar grant portfolio investing in poverty-fighting nonprofits, managed relationships with grantees and community partners, and standardized the processes behind grantmaking decisions. As a Program Officer at Otto Bremer Trust, she managed a portfolio of more than 100 grants across Greater Minnesota, and provided hands-on technical support to strengthen grantee organizations.
Rose began her career in affordable housing, including roles at City of Lakes Community Land Trust and Minnesota Housing Finance Agency, and brings consulting experience as a Senior Associate at Seiche, where she advised philanthropic and nonprofit clients on strategic communications, research, and evaluation. She has also served on several nonprofit boards, giving her a board member’s view of what leaders need to see to make good decisions.
Rose is endlessly curious about how things could work better, especially when “better” means making a real difference in people’s lives.
Meet TJ Hanes
Co-Founder | Data Systems & Analytics
Based in Chicago, IL
Master of Science in Business Analytics, University of Illinois Chicago
BS in Business Administration and BA in Philosophy, Boston University
TJ is a data analytics leader who helps organizations strengthen how they collect, structure, analyze, and use information.
At a national nonprofit, TJ grew from Program Manager to Senior Manager of Data Analytics. He designed organization-wide data analysis strategies and managed the full data workflow, from intake and validation to cleaning and integrating survey, internal, and external data. He led the grant-reporting team, aligning funder requirements with program data to demonstrate community impact. He also led cross-departmental working sessions to standardize data practices, authored internal studies on program effectiveness, and trained staff on data integrity and analysis. His work produced reports and presentations for leadership, funders, and media partners.
TJ's path to data runs through the front lines. He managed youth programs in Chicago-area schools and coordinated program delivery with site partners across the city, so he knows what data collection looks like on a busy program day. Before moving into the nonprofit sector, he spent years leading high-volume operations, building the checklists, forecasts, and systems that keep complex work environments running smoothly.
TJ works in Excel, R, Tableau, Qualtrics, and Microsoft Access, and focuses on building tools organizations can sustain on their own.
For his graduate capstone at UIC, TJ built analytics models for the UIC Baseball team, proving there are very few things he won’t try to understand through data. He’s also the oldest brother to three younger sisters, who keep him grounded in the fact that not everything can be solved with a spreadsheet.
